Buidling Dreams Together

Messi bags another brace as Inter Miami march on in the Cup.

Another night and another Lionel Messi goal. It feels like he has injected a new life into the club and all around him.

Lionel Messi is the gift that keeps on giving. The Argentine refused the Saudi outfit in favour of David Beckham’s MLS franchise. Earlier this summer, Messi made his exit from the French club Paris Saint Germain and aboard the setting of Beckhams’s struggling franchise.

His first appearance came in the League Cup, and it was indeed electric. Coming off the bench to score a free kick at the end minutes of the game. Helping his side win their first game since their last six outings.

How could you possibly follow up on such a successful debut? We’re talking about Messi, after all. He was dominant in his first full start, as he scored a brace against Atlanta United. Helping his side cruise through comfortably with a scoreline of 4-0. With the arrival of the Argentine, it feels like he has turned Robert Taylor into prime Neymar Jr. Taylor is the biggest beneficiary of Messi’s arrival in these early days.

Orlando City did something that neither Atlanta United nor Cruz Azul did. They roughed up Messi a little. A good strategy but at this point, there is nothing to there to stop him.

Regardless of being fouled repeatedly, Messi scored twice in the victory, one in each half. His first goal was a spectacular volley off a beautiful cross from Robert Taylor. His second goal came on another volley off a beautiful cross from Josef Martinez. This performance has reached his goal tally to five goals in three appearances.

With his brace yesterday, Messi is only 24 goals away from being the club’s top scorer. The current top scorer for the franchise is yet another Argentinian, Gonzalo Higuain.

After yet another convincing win, their next challenge is against Dallas in the round of 16.
