Celtic’s Perfect SWPL Start Continues With A 3-0 Win Over Partick Thistle

Celtic remain at the top of the league for another week as they record a victory over Partick Thistle in the 10th round of the SWPL.

Partick Thistle managed to keep Celtic at bay as the game got underway at Petershill Park with their only real chances coming from set pieces.

The deadlock was broken in the 29th minute when Colette Cavanagh sent the ball into the area to Paula Partido who took a touch before sending a low shot past the Thistle goalkeeper.

Celtic would double their advantage in the 67th minute as Murphy Agnew scored her first Celtic goal, and just seven minutes later, the Ghirls secured all three points as Chloe Craig blasted the ball in the back of the net.

After scoring her first Celtic goal, Agnew spoke to Celtic TV. She said: “You always want to help contribute to a win so it was nice to be able to open my account.”

Celtic sit two points clear at the top of the table with the chance to make it five if they can win in Sunday’s Glasgow Derby. Partick Thistle are away to Aberdeen next which is sure to be a tricky test for the Jags.
