Match Preview: Chelsea vs Leicester – FA Cup

A preview for an FA Cup Quarter-final Match between Chelsea and Leicester.

An FA Cup Quarter-final Match between the two sides will happen on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, having last played each other in the competition back in 2021 during the final. Where Leicester won the cup.

Chelsea is looking to play again at Wembley for the second time this season, where last month they lost to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and they will most likely want to correct this by beating the Championship leaders.

However, this does bring its own pressure on the team and for the manager. Though Monday night’s win over Newcastle was promising, Pochettino has admitted that he does not feel the love from the fans. With failing to beat a team in a lower league will be classed as a huge disappointment.

Meanwhile, Leicester have hit a slump in their form after only winning two games in their last 5 matches, and they still very much have eyes to push for promotion. The Foxes will be without Jamie Vardy for the match, after he picked a knock against Sunderland at the start of March. This is a blow to the team, as Vardy has scored eight goals in his last eight appearances.

Former Leicester City Ben Chillwell will be available for the Blues after picking up a knee injury on March 2nd. Chelsea have an impressive record in the FA Cup, who last lifted the FA Cup back in 2018 and have reached the final in five of the last seven seasons.
