Deniz Undav Makes Loan Switch To VfB Stuttgart

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Deniz Undav is in Germany ahead of a proposed move to Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart.

The 27-year-old will join Stuttgart on a season-long loan from the Seagulls.

Undav had a strong end to the season after a slow start and lack of game time, however, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi believes that he has enough options in the striker position with Danny Welbeck, Evan Ferguson and new £30 million signing Joao Pedro.

The German striker scored eight goals in 30 appearances in his debut season in the Premier League but started just six games during the 38-game campaign.

Undav was on the scoresheet in Albion’s 4-3 loss to Chelsea in the Summer Series but wasn’t included in De Zerbi’s line-up for the 2-1 loss to Newcastle in New Jersey.

The loan deal will cost Stuttgart around £500,000 and will include an option to buy and he could complete his move to the Bundesliga side in the coming days.
