Porto grab last-minute winner against Arsenal in the Champions League

Porto 1 – 0 Arsenal

Galeno scores a last minute screamer to punish a lacklustre Arsenal side in the first leg at Estádio do Dragão in the Champions League.

Galeno struck the ball from the right-hand side, just outside the box, and curled it into the top right corner – beating David Raya.

Arsenal, Despite being ranked 3rd favourites to win the competition and having 72% possession, were unable to find the net or create any real chances.

Arsenal are yet to beat Porto away from home, whilst Porto haven’t won on English soil, both records could stand after the second leg.

Galeno missed two absolute sitters, as he hits the post and then immediately puts the ball pas the other post in the 20th minute as David Raya was rooted to the spot.

Arsenals only chances of the first half came from Bukayo Saka corners, all having squabbles between both squads at each set piece.

Arsenal woke up a little in the second half, starting to create chances from open play, but their best chance came from Leonardo Trossard volleying Saka’s corner over the bar.

Porto held on to a clean sheet, despite Arsenals recent domestic record, as well as Arsenal having eight corners.

Porto have a critical domestic game before they travel to North London, facing Benfica with the opportunity to revive their title challenge.
