Buidling Dreams Together

Ex-Saints Winger Nathan Redmond Signs For Burnley

Burnley have completed the signing of Nathan Redmond on a free transfer on a two-year deal with the option of a third year.

The 29-year-old winger has been a free agent since he left Turkish side Besiktas earlier in the summer.

Redmond spent just one season with Besiktas, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 25 league appearances. He arrives with vast experience in the Premier League having played over 250 games in the top-flight.

Burnley announced the signing with a video from the TV comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

“I always had aspirations to play in the Premier League again and I’m really thankful to Besiktas for allowing me to play there but I’m really happy to be back in the Premier League with this club”, said Redmond.

“I think with Burnley’s project at the moment and the direction the club is going in, it lines up with my ambitions.

“The management team feels that they can enhance my game more and see the value that I can bring on and off the field.

“It feels like the perfect match.”

Clarets boss Vincent Kompany described Redmond as a player with ‘a great work ethic, plenty of skill and a willingness to continue learning.’

“He also brings his personality and character to this football club which will benefit the younger players here”, said Kompany.

Redmond becomes Vincent Kompany’s seventh signing of the summer, a day after goalkeeper James Trafford was announced as signing on a long-term deal.
