Buidling Dreams Together

High hopes for Chelsea FC after a successful pre-season.

Chelsea FC have just finished their pre-season summer camp in America and have gone unbeaten in all five games for the first time since summer 2011. On top of that, they also took home the Premier League summer series trophy.

Pochettino saw a successful start to his new managerial role at the club, with a 5-0 win to recently promoted league two side Wrexham A.F.C. The blues then travelled to Pennsylvania and kick-started the premier league summer series with a 4-3 win to southern coast side Brighton & Hove Albion. The following week saw a 1-1 draw in their fixture against Newcastle United at the Mercedes Benz stadium in Georgia. A goal from newly signed Nicolas Jackson in the 12th minute resulted in the Blues gaining a point from the game. Chelsea finished their premier league summer series after a 2-0 win against local rivals Fulham . The goals from Thiago Silva and Christopher Nkunku guided the team to win the premier league summer series and take the trophy back home to London. Before returning home, the squad took one last pre-season game against Bundesliga Side Borussia Dortmund and finished the summer with a 1-1 draw.

Star Signing Nicolas Jackson is the player to look out for this season. The Senegalese international cost £32 million from the Spanish side Villarreal in June earlier this year. He’s already made a massive impact on the club by making his first assist three minutes into his debut against Wrexham. He finished this summer pre-season with two goals and three assists and is more than ready to join the premier league.

After such a successful pre-season, The blues have high hopes for the premier league this season compared to the disasters last season. With the departure of three managers in one season, the club finished 12th at the end of the season after 11 wins and 16 losses in 38 games, compared to the 21-2022 season, where the Blues finished 3rd in the premier league.

Chelsea FC’s first fixture of the 2023-24 season will be against Liverpool as the Blues host at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, the 13th of August, with a 4:30 PM Kick-off.
