Brentford submit record bid for Nicolas Gonzalez

Brentford have submitted a new bid for Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez.

The new bid is in the excess of €40 million.

Thomas Frank’s side are looking for attacking reinforcements this summer, especially after the loss of Ivan Toney until January.

Brentford have now turned their attention to Gonzalez after failing with a bid to purchase Nottingham Forest forward, Brennan Johnson.

Fiorentina rejected an initial bid two weeks ago however Brentford are very much interested in the player and have raised their bid with an attractive salary to try and bring the winger to the club.

The Italian club have considered the player ‘not for sale’ this summer and Brentford are yet to hear back from this offer however they will continue to push with tempting offers to get the deal done.

Gonzalez already has one goal and one assist this season and impressed last season by scoring fourteen goals providing five assists.

The Argentine can operate anywhere across the attack and is a player who likes to dribble and cut inside to shoot.

In addition he is strong in aerial duels which makes him a well-rounded attacker.

Brentford have just over a week to find a new forward.
